So there’s just 50 days to go untili the start of the Olympics. So when Dawn tagged me in a meme recently it seemed like a fun thing to do. There’s no rules just Q&A.
On your marks…get set…go!
If everyday tasks were an Olympic event, what would you get a gold medal in?
That’s easy – planning and organising – I do it for a living, I do it at home – from working out where our next holiday will be to planning meals for the week so I can buy the right things in the grocery order. I am the queen of planning and organising!
As a child or now even did you excel at a particular sport?
I don’t think I’d use the word excel but I was a pretty good GK in netball for a while. It helped that I was reasonably tall. I also did ok at the shot putt!
Michael Phelps (swimming) or Michael Johnson (running). Which sport appeals to you most?
Another easy one – running for sure. I like lazing in a pool on holiday but I’m not sure that could be counted as swimming.
How fast can you get out of bed and ready to go out of the door if you miss the alarm and sleep in?
Given my answer to the first question it’s probably no surprise that this rarely happens to me. I’d guess at 15 mins as I’d probably already worked out what to wear the night before!
What fantasy sport would you like to see made into an Olympic Event.
Management bullshit bingo. How many ‘going forward’ ‘singing from the same hymn sheet’ and ‘think outside the box’ can you count?
Claim to fame time: have you ever met an Olympian?
Not really ‘met’ but I did see Liz Yelling at a pre London Marathon ‘Meet the Experts Day’
What event in past Olympics can you remember most about?
Getting up at some ungodly time to watch Carl Lewis win the 100m final and claim his 4th (or maybe more) medal. Must have been late 80s/early 90s
Tuning in at home or tickets clamped in hand?
No tickets but hoping to see the opening ceremony fireworks from our balcony and I want to get out and try to see the marathons.
Who do you think most deserves a gold medal (any walk of life not just Olympics)
I’m going to say Claire Lomas for her superhuman efforts in completing the London Marathon this year. She didn’t get a medal from the marathon organisers so I think she should have a gold one instead.
So now I get to pass the baton on to two others. I pick Dash and Sian. Two other ladies into all things sport and fitness. I’m intrigued to read their answers.
