I set my alarm to get up early to complete Day 2 of Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred.
As I got out of bed my first thought was “ouch – my abs hurt!” It’s been a while since I’ve felt my abs ache and it’s a great feeling knowing you’ve given them a good workout. And pretty impressive given that there are only 3 minutes of ab work in the workout!
I found today easier than yesterday mainly because I knew what was coming next and could keep up better. Less time watching what was going on and more time working out.
Jillian has two helpers with her. One who does modifications of the moves for beginners and the other who does the hardcore version. For most moves I’m somewhere in between them. I’m not going to move on to Level 2 until I can keep up with ‘hardcore’ helper all the way through.
I also definitely need to give my arms more of a challenge. At 0.5kg each the bottles of milkshake are pretty easy to lift and if I’m going to get the most out of this I need to increase the weight. I’ve ordered a set of handweights from Amazon so I look forward to them arriving – although I may well regret that statement once they’re here!
So Day 2 complete and I’m already feeling the effects. Can’t be bad!
