Ready for action

The rest is over. Tomorrow I start Julia Buckley’s 10 week Extreme Inferno programme.

Having read and watched all the programme materials I think it’s safe to say that Julia has taken things up a notch or 3 and that my body is going to be in for a bit of a shock. We’re exercising 6 days out of 7, gone are the beginner moves – it’s all hard-core intermediate and advanced stuff. Slightly scary, but I’m ready for it. After two weeks of no intense exercise I’m ready to get stuck in again and my body is definitely in need of some good clean eating.

Julia’s got us to take another set of ‘before’ photos. I’ve had mine taken wearing a bikini that I want to feel confident in when we go on holiday in November. Wearing that bikini is one of my goals for the programme, along with fitting into a pair of shorts which are currently too tight. I probably won’t lose fat as quickly as I did on Julia’s first programme – the fact is I have less to lose and my body is used to working out in this way now so it’s not going to be so much of a change for it. I’ve set myself a target of 5% loss over the 10 weeks.

I also want to master an unassisted pull up. I’m getting on quite well with the assistance of a chair but I really want to be able to do it on my own. There are quite a few moves which I think I’m going to struggle with to begin with but I’ve set myself a goal of being able to do the advanced version of everything by the end of the 10 weeks.

The fridge is stocked with fresh veg and lean protein and I’m going to give alcohol a miss during the week. I know it’s not my friend when I’m focussing on shedding fat. So I think I’m all set. Now it’s time for me to start channelling my inner super heroine.

Extreme Inferno – bring it on!
