Mio – Fit Skin For Life – review

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted to see if I wanted to try out some products from the Mio Skincare range. At first I wasn’t sure  – I’m not someone that spends a lot on lotions and potions and I feel like I’ve got pretty much every cream or balm I could need in my life right now.

But I’d heard a bit about this range and a couple of bloggers who I trust had reported good things, so I thought I’d at least take a look at their website. And when I did I was intrigued. I liked the names of the products and the fact that they seemed to be aimed at women like me. The packaging is simple, the names and descriptions of the products a bit quirky, the ingredients list well explained and free from the nasties that you find in a lot of products, and the claims realistic.

So I agreed to try out a few products.

Let’s face it – I’m not getting any younger and my boobs are heading in one direction only so I figured that anything that could help the dreaded ‘sag’ had got to be worth a try. I’m also really aware that I often unintentionally catch the sun on my chest area and that compared to the rest of my skin this area can often be a bit of a darker colour!

It’s recommended to use this once a day and apply one pump of cream from below the chin to below the boobs. The product smells nice, I think it’s kind of orangey but not overpowering. The cream goes on easily and is absorbed quickly, not sticky at all. And you know what, having used it for just over a week I can see a bit of a difference. The skin on my chest has a more even appearance and feels firmer. I’ve shared a lot of photos of me on this blog but I’m going to draw the line at chest and boob shots so you’re going to have to take my word for it!

At £35 this isn’t a cheap product but since I’m only using one pump per day I think it’s going to last a while.

11098414-1244344901708953Next up Workout Wonder invigorating muscle motivating gel. There’s rarely a day of the week when some muscle in my body isn’t aching after training. Today it’s my quads and shoulders after Olympic Lifting yesterday. This refreshing and cooling gel is made to be rubbed into aching muscles. It’s got Arnica extract and Magnesium among other things and smells of Spearmint. It cools the skin and makes it tingle in a way far preferable to an ice bath. Having put this on my shoulders this morning they feel relaxed and much less achey this afternoon. Apparently you can also use this before a workout to help muscles perform for longer – I’ve yet to try that out but I’m already a fan of this one.

At £21 it’s not cheap but again you don’t use much for each application, and if it helps my muscles recover quicker then I’m sold.

11098416-9654344901714164Last up Liquid Yoga restorative bath soak. This is simply wonderful – smells like you’re having an aromatherapy massage and was so relaxing that I nearly fell asleep in my bath.

Arnica along with Epsom salts relax aching muscles and a blend of essential oils relax and ease the mind.

I did not want to get out – only wrinkly fingers made me!

I’d had a very stressful week at work but by the time I’d finished my bath yesterday afternoon I felt so chilled out it was like none of it had ever happened. It doesn’t create lots of bubbles, but it does make you feel like you’re in a spa. Bliss in a bottle. This one costs £26 for a 200 ml bottle and would be a fantastic present for someone active. I was sent a trial sized bottle to try out so I might be making a request to Santa for a full sized version.

I’ve been really impressed with the Mio products. I always say that the real test of whether a blogger likes a product is whether they’d part with their own cash to purchase it. This weekend I’ve taken advantage of a 3 for the price of 2 Black Friday deal on the Mio website to try out a couple of their other products. That should tell you everything you need to know.

I was sent the Mio products to try for free. All of my opinions are my own.

    1. I got the Get Waisted, some more Boob Tube and Skin Tight Tightening Body Serum (going to try that on the loose skin on the backs of my arms – has good reviews). I don’t have that many baths either but I think it might now!
