[STRONG SATURDAY] This week I succumbed to the January cold that's plagued a lot of my colleagues over Christmas. I had to cancel my session with @strengthcoach_london yesterday as I couldn't go more than a minute without sneezing or blowing my nose. This morning I felt loads better so took myself off to the gym for some lifting. Stuck to static work as I'm still not 100% but managed to tick off most of my upper body and deadlift session so I'm definitely on the mend. Hoping that I'll feel even better tomorrow so I can get my moving events done. Deadlifts filmed from the side as requested by @sonia.p10.fitness. [PROGRESS] 10 days of consistently working on my hip mobility with the @tom.morrison.training Simplistic Mobility Method. Look at the difference! The aim is to have my arm flat on the floor - it's not far off. Excited to see what happens to my squat depth as this improves. This combined with my rehab exercises from @sonia.p10.fitness is thankfully making the sciatica slowly subside. [EGO] Trying really hard to leave my ego at the door in training at the moment. My default is to want to lift as heavy as possible in EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME. But I know that's not what my body needs at all right now. Some things are hard enough to do with good form and range of motion with no weight at all. I'm looking at you Bulgarian split squats. Tough and wobbly without a weight in sight (although I had just knackered my legs with squats before this...) [EVENTS] Testing out some events today to see how they felt. 🏋️Log felt great - one of my favourites and was happy to jump back in with working sets of 6 x 40kg 👍Yoke runs were very light but pretty long at 40m each. First time under a yoke since Brits last year and it felt ok. Nearly got blown over by the wind however! 🙄 Light sandbag carries were fine too. Not my favourite thing but I've asked @strengthcoach_london for conditioning work and that's what I've got! 🚫 Not shown are stone loads. Did 1 at just 45kg and back said no. Bolt of nerve pain down my left leg, so they come off the programme for now. #strong #strength #strongwoman #events #masters

[DEADLIFTS] Video a bit grainy (should have taken up @rachael2point0 on her offer of filming] but this morning my sciatica disappeared for a few minutes while I deadlifted. Go figure. Everything felt good, no pulling in my back, no nerve pain down my leg. My grip didn't love the sets of 8 at the top end to be fair but got over it as soon as I switched to using straps. So good to be back, even if it's from a height to start with. ]FLOOR PRESS] First 'proper' session of 2020 and started with probably my favourite session of the week - pressing. This floor press in particular is one of the best new exercises that @strengthcoach_london has introduced me to. My numbers on this have been creeping up steadily and I'm hoping this will transfer over into my overhead events🤞 #strong #strength #strongwoman #masters #offseason
