  2. Hi Becca
Im a couch potato, and six weeks into the 1oK in 14 weeks, and sticking to it.
Im also signed up for the south west tough mudder in August.
In June i plan to join a gym to improve my all round fitness ahead of the event.
From your experience do i need to do this, or turn up, run with my team and we do our best?
Do ‘they’ penalise you if you do not complete every obstacle???

  3. ahhhh! I am running my first marathon next year 2015 and was googling blogs and yours was the first to come up! i’m also going to be running (jogging/slowly hobbling) London too! From the US tho. Totally a Sign that this site came up!

  4. Hi Becca, I just spent the past three days binge-reading your entire blog from the very beginning. It is so inspiring what you’ve achieved and has inspired me to get moving and into running. I have signed up for a 5K run in July and hope to get to the point down the line where I can run in a marathon like you. By any chance do you know of other similar blogs that talk about running training from scratch? I want to get as many beginner’s perspectives as I can and will certainly be referring back to your blog as I go along, i find it so motivating!

Sorry for the long gush. You are awesome.

    1. Hi Ashley,

Thank you so much, that’s so lovely to hear. It’s fantastic that you’ve signed up for your first 5K – you’ll feel such a sense of achievement for doing it. The other blogs that I love that are great for getting inspiration as a beginner are Lazy Girl Running http://www.lazygirlrunning.com/ I’d really recommend her e-book as well. Also The Fat Girls Guide to Running http://toofattorun.co.uk/ is a great resource whether you are overweight or not. When I very first started out I used the resources on Running into Shape http://runningintoshape.com/ which I found very useful indeed.

By all means read away but the best way to learn is to get out there and start running! Enjoy the journey -it’s a lot of fun.

      Becca
