Sometimes you need to look back…..

At the weekend Mr J and I held a party to celebrate our 40th birthdays. I must stress that I’m not actually 40 until December but since he was 40 in September we picked a date in the middle to celebrate.

I bought myself a new dress for the party, after much umming and aahing about what I wanted to wear. I posted a pic of me wearing it on Facebook and got lots of lovely comments including someone suggesting that I compare it to the professional photos that I had done back in December for Slimpod Stars day.

So I did.

The photo on the left was taken in December 2012, the one on the right October 2013. I’ve got to admit that I was surprised at the difference. But what a boost!

Now I’m not really one for dwelling on the past, thinking about what might have been or regretting things I have or haven’t done. I’m more likely to be thinking about what comes next and looking to the future.

But I guess this goes to show that sometimes you do need to look back to see just how far you’ve come!
